If you want to use Malsingmaps in GPS smartphones, I think you should go for Nokias with built-in GPS like N95 and purchase Garmin Mobile™ XT (data card version).

How about getting a GPS PDA (Windows Mobile) phone, then everything is free for software and map, see Newbies with PDA and BT GPSr.

I'd refrain from using the word "Better". You have to figure that yourself:

1. Nokia (S60) with built-in GPS + Garmin Mobile XT Card version = Can use free Malsingmaps
2. Nokia (S60) + Garmin GPS10X BT GPS receiver = Can use free Malsingmaps
3. PDA with built-in GPS = Can use free Malsingmaps
4. PDA + Any BT GPS receiver = Can use free Malsingmaps

3. PDA with built-in GPS = Can use free Malsingmaps
regarding this pda with build in GPS,is it like the D810?? so, no need any xtra card like the micro sd for the smartphones is it?so,i just have to download the gps program for windows mobile, install to D810 and run it.is it?

Generally yes, but I think there are some issues with some models (re: GPSProxy 2.2c), read up more about the setup here: Newbies with PDA and BT GPSr.

A920 was my first GPS phone. The battery can only last you about 3 hour, the spare battery was very expensive and not available in Singapore. it take very long time to acquired the satelites, finally I gave away free about 2 years ago. Once it lost the satelites fix during using, it may take you more than 20 minute for acquired the satelite again. The GPS application nhGPS, mapviewGPS and smartcomGPS.
For GPS application better go for WM PPC. All the autoroute mapping software initially were developed on this plateform for so many years ago and now it worked stable.
If you go for Nokia with GPS then you need to buy the Card from Garmin. you will have abbreviated POIs problem on all the 3rd parties maps except the only MSM Symbian version else to purchase the original Garmin maps. For this region I don't think Garmin maps can be better than the maps here. Don't go for Symbian version if you are going to invest money on GPS.
I had problem on gpspoxy ver 2.2c installation. For me just wanted to test it for 1s tracks recording but not so importance because I had nhGPS + SE P910i worked excellence for me. The previous 2.2 with Garmin Que 2.9 was working but not that perfect. Later I bought Garmin 10 bundle and I really enjoy it.

I'm having problem installing the map to my Motorola A1600. Can anyone teach me how to go about it? Do you need a cable USB cable? I bought my A1600 from HK and it does not come with the Map.
I can receive satelite signal but no map to navigate. HELP!!

B. Rgds!
