Sorry, its called "Kari Ayam Sempalit" opposite Raub Police Station and it is in EC-R ... That's the main attraction so I coded it as such ...
Should be changed to Ratha to be corect ...
Original restaurant is Rest Darmoharan Nair in Sempalit. |

ya ya. its there behind the police station.. house is within walking distance to jalan tantiong.. Also remember to put POI for shorty fried kueh teow shack (nights only) next to KWSP
next time i'm there, i'm going to mark the "Cheen loong pau" bakery shop.. Its sort of a pancake, oven fried with filling of peanuts, coconut, etc.. Sort of like the arab kubus bread.. Very hard to explain la. but the actual factory is located deep somewhere in raub.. Really need GPS to go.. They sell somewhere in the market area i think..
Literal translation from chinese is Over fried bread... _________________ Mobile Gadgets: Suunto Mosquito, SE w810, Holux GPS Slim 236, Garmin GPS 10x, iPAQ hx2750 Check out GPS PPC software review @ alantyc.blogspot.com |

I think they will be 4 of us. A house would be cool. How much do they charge? Which way do you usually take to Raub? How long's the drive?

Hi declan!
It take me 4+ hrs to reach Simpang Pulai from Raub, (by MPV +family +few times stopped for vomiting!). That Gap road (Frazer's Hill) is so "ular kena palu", same as Tapah-Cameron Highland road.
I never experience the 1st option, by Gua Musang.
Hope it is no to late for me to say "Welcome to Raub!"

Holy cow.. you're taking that road? I wonder if i took the same route.
I went from Ipoh to Raub during CNY followed GPS malsing map.. used the KKB GAP road.. I used my Proton Putra and it was FUN for me..>>> but wife threw up just after all the loops and bends were done.. Just outside Raub.. I dunno where exactly but its the first straight road after the bends.. Wide road...
Just like the Guy throwing up in Initial D.
Follow GPS.. that'll be the route i took.. I went thru kuala Kubu Baru. Took me about 3 hours i think. If you can keep one eye on GPS and I eye on road,, then you can predict all the bends so its actually easier to drive with the GPS on.
THe KKB road gives fantastic scenery, great weather and there's thi DAM that you have to check out. They drowned a whole forest..
Mom in law said she'll be giving me the phone number tommorow.. i think charges is like 250 per night or something.. Its a Home stay thing.
till tommorow morning.. _________________ Mobile Gadgets: Suunto Mosquito, SE w810, Holux GPS Slim 236, Garmin GPS 10x, iPAQ hx2750 Check out GPS PPC software review @ alantyc.blogspot.com |

yup i took this route..
Nicer to drive this road with a slightly power car at least.
MPV.. would have been err.. difficult..
the part circled is really as curvy as seen in the 2nd pic.. no bluff..

Thanks Tabib and Prometheus
Gua Musang way is about 70km further i think but at least the road is a lot nicer. No ular kena patuk roads. Seems like everyone's vomiting using the Bukit Fraser route. I drive an automatic so these roads will really be hard on my brakes. Hill roads used to be so much easier with a manual
250 for the whole house or just a room? Does homestay include food? What about this Raub Rest House? It doesn't have to be in town. I wonder if Raub has any wifi spots :P
thinking of hitting mph and browsing thru the lonely planey guidebook |

THis is the Raub House for Rent thingy..
Got 2 houses.. Fully Furnished Air conditioned. I'm not really sure about the price, about 250 i think.
Contact number 0199047373 his name is Seong (i think)
about the road, if you don't mind going 70km further, might as well you go to KL then after that you go to raub via Karak Highway.. Road will be much easier . and time is about the same.
the Gua musang road is unmapped ah? then you can map the place la. _________________ Mobile Gadgets: Suunto Mosquito, SE w810, Holux GPS Slim 236, Garmin GPS 10x, iPAQ hx2750 Check out GPS PPC software review @ alantyc.blogspot.com |
